On 23 December 2011 we held a mixed junior netball tournament for players between the ages of 8-12. The girls were really excited to show off their netball skills and meet other netballers their age. Players from Ra'anana and Modii'n came along, selected a colour from a hat and were split into teams according to the colours picked. We had four teams participating, two of which had a combination of three daughters and a mom (filling in). This made the tournament even more exciting as the family teams (Cohens and Spigelmans) along with the two others worked very hard to try and make it into the finals. Keeping with the family packages, Jodi Carreira's (founder, umpire, coach and player) son Eitan joined in the fun and got on court as well. All displayed some great netball, good sportsmanship both on and off court, with parents watching on and cheering for their daughters. Oranges were handed out for girls to munch on before going back on court making this a true netball event.

The teams that were off court waiting for their turn to shine, took great initiative and went outside to work on their passes as a team.

The day was thoroughly enjoyed by all with prizes for 1st and 2nd place teams and MVP awarded to Yael Shmukler. Each netballer left with a doughnut and bandana in hand, big smiles on their faces, and their very proud coaches behind them.
